Can an engaging AI activity lead to real public-service work?
Start with a seven-minute emoji activity, then examine residents’ questions, alternatives and counterarguments to build grounded documents.
Understand an example, apply it to your situation and revise an output you can explain. Activities are adapted to the audience, time and starting skills.
Prepared learning materials
A 59-page workbook, teaching slides, public sources, prompts and character, emoji and information-card examples are prepared. Follow completed examples through input, revision and checking.
Related teaching experience
Updated from the October 2026 Yeongjong public-service AI programme and facilitation feedback. New organisational sessions are adapted to the audience, sources and goals.
Who is it for?
Legislative, public-service and community-participation practitioners
What will you work towards?
One shared briefing and one chosen work document
A selected emoji, resident-information image or card-news exercise
Source checks, counterargument review, revisions and a reuse plan
How will you review the output?
Use cross-field ideas and design thinking to ask better questions, visual thinking to organise information, and rethinking to revise it. Check figures, dates and legal references against provided sources; retain unknowns as questions.
How much time should you plan?
Three hours, including 20 minutes of breaks: 15-minute opening with a 7-minute emoji activity; briefing 45; break 10; perspectives and counterarguments 35; document choice 15; break 10; personal task and visual practice 30; review, saving and reuse 20. Output scope depends on starting skills and tools.
What will you explore?
Use public or fictional material instead of sensitive cases or personal data; compare AI text with the source.
